HDMI is an uncompressed video format for delivering high-definition video to your computer. To use HDMI video with Dragon Stop Motion, you must have an HDMI conversion card, like the one from Blackmagic Design.

HDV is a compressed video format for delivering high-definition video over Firewire to your computer.

You can use HDV sources on Windows by installing ffdshow. This is described in the Dragon Stop Motion user manual.

You can use HDV sources on Mac with either of the following configurations:

  • OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
  • OS X 10.5 (Leopard) if you have Final Cut Pro
