Live View
The Canon PowerShot A640 provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 320 x 240.The Canon PowerShot A640 provides a live view via analog video output. The resolution depends on the output type (NTSC/PAL) and the aspect ratio (NORMAL/WIDE). You will need an analog to digital converter to use this video source with your computer.

Setup Instructions
- Power your camera by AC power if possible.
- If you must use a battery, make sure it is fully charged.
- If you use AC power, remove the battery.
- Close any other applications that might connect to your camera.
- For Mac OS X, Open the Image Capture application, go to its Preferences and select No applicaton to open when a camera is connected.
- Set the Mode Dial to Manual (M).
- Set My Colors to Off.
